U.S. Army Munitions Testing Facility Produces Ammo – and Asbestos Exposure!
State and federal law is designed to protect workers who conduct asbestos removal. Unfortunately, some companies ignore the law – and put their employees at risk!
According to allegations from the Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Ford Lumber & Building Supply Inc. instructed its employees to remove asbestos-wrapped steam heat pipes at Ford Lumber’s Jefferson Proving Ground, a former U.S. army munitions testing facility. As a result, IOSHA cited Ford Lumber with 16 violations and leveled a fine of $132,000.
