Colorado Hotel Indicted on Asbestos Charges

Is your hotel room safe from asbestos? For most hotel rooms, yes; however, for the Frisco Holiday Inn in Summit County, Colorado, the answer is a terrifying no. Despite the fact that the owner and manager knew about the presence of aerosolized asbestos in the hotel rooms and had received warnings from state health officials, they still rented rooms that were contaminated by asbestos. Tragically, three workers and 22 guests – including children – have been exposed to asbestos.

According to a subsequent indictment, the hotel owner and manager now face up to six months in prison and a $500,000 fine. It’s understandable why the penalty is so high: asbestos exposure can cause incurable, lethal cancers such as asbestosis and mesothelioma. Don’t let this happen to you! Know the risks associated with asbestos exposure and fight for the health of your family. To find out more about asbestos risks, talk to the professionals at Fears | Nachawati today.
