Asbestosis Kills Homebuilder
Arthur Nutt, a retired homebuilder from the United Kingdom, died recently from asbestosis, a fatal disease caused by asbestos exposure. For nearly thirty years, Mr. Nutt built and remodeled homes and buildings throughout England. In the process, Mr. Nutt inhaled aerosolized asbestos fibers, leading to internal scarring and, ultimately, cancer.
By the end of his life, Mr. Nutt suffered from such asbestosis symptoms as shortness of breath, coughing and chest pain. In some advanced cases, asbestosis patients also experience a finger deformity known as “clubbing” in which the fingertips spread out and become rounder.
